Totally agree that the system is toast.

However, gigantic systems tend to have more resilience than most people give them credit for. I remember people saying that the system will go down in 2008…and here we are. It could be 30 years before we see the actual collapse, nobody knows. I can also potentially see a split society where we may still have to interface with them occasionally.

So still I see a lot of benefit in putting some very basic defenses in place. Many of these processes are also surprisingly easy to do.

No right or wrong here, just depends on each person’s situation and how they want to roll.

Also…you can get a bible birth record authenticated at the state or federal level and still get a passport, or use it when you need “official” documentation.

Banking could be done with a foreign EIN, instead of a SSN.

You could try some of the things in this book, hits a lot of different angles, talks about children’s teeth specifically. Could be something emotional too.

For the house, I would look into getting the Land Patent first..if you plan to stay there for awhile. That takes the property completely out of the corporate jurisdiction and makes you the full owner.

If you put it as-is into a trust, you’re still just a tenant and subject to a lot of laws.

As far as the car, best thing is to call them and see what they require. That stuff varies by state/county.

Yes, with the land patent, you actually own the land. Takes some doing though. The only reason agencies can enforce building codes and tax is because your deed and all the deeds before you are contracts that put the land into the US corporation jurisdiction. I don’t know much about that, but I’m thinking the same thing you are…create a bond and self-insure somehow. I’m also not there yet, but I would love to hear what you find and I’ll share if I find anything.

    Hi Sara,

First thing to consider is if you need to authenticate or not. From what I’ve heard, you can do a special request for the “longer” version in California. Call the office and see what they say. The one with more information is usually the Certificate of Live Birth and doesn’t need to be authenticated. You can see the difference in information between the CLOB and BC by looking at Obama’s CLOB/BC online, that shows the 2 versions for Hawaii. I didn’t authenticate my Hawaii CLOB and got 5 stars. I would talk to some Nationals in California to see what their results have been, since I don’t know too much about California. That would save you some trouble.

As far as how to authenticate, here’s how to do it at the federal level:

You can authenticate at either the federal or state level, but you don’ t need both.

If they try to force you to apostille, you can do this:

    Hi Kathy,

I like OnePlus phones, they are higher quality than the Pixels and have MUCH better cameras. The Pixels are theoretically supposed to be the most secure, but I’m also more suspicious of Google than OnePlus.

The Light Phone seems like a decent option, but the code isn’t open source, as far as I know. Also, there’s no navigation, so that’s why I didn’t consider a Light Phone.

I feel that a better option is an Android running GrapheneOS, if you just want to use basic apps. GrapheneOS is the most secure, but because of that, it’s the least compatible with all apps.

Thanks for the input on Above Phone. I played around with GrapheneOS recently and it has gotten a lot more usable than a couple of years when I first tried it.
