Hi all! Any recommendations for non toxic cookware that is convenient. I use the instapot and cast iron griddle already. I have also bought the neoflam ceramic coated cookware as it is in Kelly Brogan’s resources- the coating is now going off and I’m not sure if I should use it any more and even thinking if it is a good option. Any recommendations for everyday cooking-omelettes, stir fries, curries?

Hi – I follow “The Healthy Home Eocnomist” who is a WAPF chapter leader in FL. She digs pretty deeply into a lot of issues, this one included, & she says she does not trust any “non-stick” cookware – I emailed her your same question last year. She has really high standards & I usually really trust her opinion. I think she’s a great resource overall, & do recommend following her! https://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/

    Here is what she said:

    Hi Kimberly,

I use stainless steel frypans, and yes, the eggs stick a bit. I have the routine of soaking them for a few hours after breakfast and cleaning them up easy as can be after that.

I don’t trust ANY brand of nonstick especially if they are advertised on TV. The materials are not fully disclosed even if you ask … it is “proprietary” information, which is a red flag for dangerous in my opinion.

    Warm regards,

    Sarah

That being said, I sure still would love to find something non-stick that I can trust!! Please post here if you uncover something you think meets the standards!! 🙂

If you can afford it go copper. Otherwise cast iron. We have both and when used correctly you won’t get much sticking.

I have some cast iron but I usually use stainless steel with butter or bacon grease. I hope stainless steel isn’t toxic.

I have Visions cookware, which is pyrex. I imagine that would be clean, however if folks have other info please share. I also have cast iron and Xtrema ceramic… website says it is not coated with anything.

We use mostly stainless steel and some cast iron pans for the cooktop. For eggs we use a lot of butter and then they don’t stick. Somehow, different from many other types of fats. Getting the eggs more to room temp helps before putting them in the pan, but same is true of many other things. I subscribe to the Health Home Economist, too! Sarah is a good source of a lot of info. and I can message her with questions as well. Very helpful. I just don’t trust any sort of non-stick. I’d love some copper, but all I have is a mug for my water.

So we have recently purchased a set of Caraway pots and pans and love them. They don’t have the PTFEs and are super quality. Got them discounted at Costco https://www.carawayhome.com/products/deluxe-cookware-set/

This looks nice Mike. Are they heavy/light? My wife says the cast iron we have is too heavy. Looking for a healthy alternative.
