    {Wondering about ash roasting methods}

    Best I’ve done is in Corningware dishes in an oven that goes to 550F. I can’t quite get the salt pure white that way, no matter how many rounds. I’ve considered doing it outside in a cast iron pan, over red hot coals, but then there would surely be high iron levels and possible falling wood ash that don’t belong in the final project..

    So far, I’ve gotten them as WHITE AS POSSIBLE, then done the leeching with distilled water and filtered through the finest coffee filter I could find, which does leave back some insoluble impurities. The salt I did add back into the Soul/Spirit seemed to dissolve/assimilate nicely..

    How are you folks Calcining?

    Hey Cory,

    Thanks for starting this thread. In regards to getting ashes pure white, I think this is an area of confusion for lots of folks. When I studied with Phoenix Aurelius, he mentioned lots of teachers say they get pure white salts when in fact they are a light grey. Many teachers also use this as a way to bolster themselves and claim their students failure is because of their “lack” of spiritual progress. It was a way for them to separate themselves and seem larger than life.

    That being said, I incinerate outside after straining the sulfur and mercury from the salts. After that, I calcine for a few hours outside and then finish it up on the stove inside to get the salts a little lighter. From there is dissolution which you mentioned. Usually three round of leaching in order to get pure potassium carbonate. Would love to hear more about how your practice with spagyrics is going and others’ experiences.
