I am a mom of 5 boys, who are currently attending a private school on a small island. My oldest is heading into eleventh grade (he is skipping a school year) and the school is pushing the university path. This child is very academic, and may end up going along this path, but I would like to have solid alternative options to present to him as well. I am interested in hearing from other parents who may already on this path to learn what options we might consider. Blessings to all.

Hmm, I don’t have a lot of resources, but I do know there are ways to study “academics” without going the university route. My husband is very academic minded, and I often think of him as a researcher. What he’s learned outside of college and university is not only more in alignment with truth, but it’s expanded his knowledge in a multitude of ways. You do have to be self motivated, but my husband is always using interlibrary loan to check out books for free that we don’t have in our area. He has Body Electric right now and has been really enjoying that. What are some of the things your son is interested in? Maybe that can help lead you? 🙂
