Hi everyone….
this post is more of a self-expression of my personal delight and excitement, as I have recently taken next phase of custodianship of a little 1.5Ha ( 3.5acre) semi- rural property in Tasmania….I am blessed to have been in a position to pay cash for this little well established property, about 10 days ago and still in the honeymoon phase of having landed this little property – as we are busily harvesting blueberries, apples, pears, rapidly learning about and coming to know the 4 dorpa sheep and 6 geese and 4 chooks that came with the property…. it is still fully on grid, and my aim is to get off grid step by step…. And the amazing surprise of learning about and meeting the “human neighbours” – 4 sets of human neighbours – all within a 5 – 15 minute walk, who are all on a similar page of awareness, all establishing self supporting food systems to varying degrees, all willing to share knowledge skills and resources…. It has been so wonderful in the past 10 days to watch my 10 yo daughter take on the role of feeding the sheep, and geese, and chooks, climbing the apple trees to harvest, cleaning out the chook shed..she has sooooooo needed to be out of the city and living in the more spacious country, freely roaming…and even to observe her process of coming to terms with the fact that our little property cannot sustain 4 sheep, and that one of them will become the focus of the local mobile butcher, and land in our freezer….and so she has come to even decide which one she would be OK with in letting go with the view to eating over the winter….
And to top all this off… I have recently come to realise how blessed I am to have an opportunity to undertake a 2 year part time face to face course ” Foundations of Anthroposophy” led by an elder who has immersed his entire adult life in Rudolf Steiners work at various levels and put together this unique exploration of Anthroposophy ( Check out grailquest.com) – and on our full day of creative expression using the medium of needle felting, the group conversation turned towards the inevitable discussion around folks views on their medical choices and expereinces through the covid “era” – and LO! the whole room of folks were all off the same ilk…. which adds to the excitement knowing that we now are a small and random group of folks who have been guided by spirit to come together for 2 years of learning about Steiners work, and will be developing close connection as we work together over the next 2 years, building our awareness of Steiner’s vast body of spirit science insights, and can talk and walk freely about these discussions.
What an exciting time to be alive and witnessing this transition through these spiritual age changeovers, and to be firmly planted on a small plot of land, with a number of switched on neighbours close by!!!
