I previously posted another version of this, but I just came across the best interpretation I’ve ever heard.. One of my favorite pieces of music — “Agnus Dei”, the choral arrangement of Samuel Barber’s original “Adagio for Strings”, written in 1936, with “Agnus Dei” being arranged in 1967.. This piece is usually performed by a full choir, but this is a small ensemble of 8 individuals — 3 ladies, and 5 men.. It’s positively STUNNING.. *Headphones required!*.. @michael.leger ..Hey Michael — I recall before you really loved this piece, and I thought for certain you’d like this version.. It’s astonishing.. The lower voices in the men, and the first soprano are beyond belief.. (8 minutes long)..

      Hi Kev,

Thank you for posting this. Yes, I find it an incredibly beautiful piece of music. There is a very high quality version available on Voces8’s Enchanted Isle release. The purity of their voices and of their arrangement goes straight to my heart.

Very cool I just came across this recording.. I watched this on the Johnny Carson show in the spring of 1990 with my best friend, right after I had bought this album (on cassette tape) and had discovered this fantastic music.. Then a year later, we saw them in concert at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis.. Astonishing sonic experience live, and some of these women literally sing bass.. 🤩

My buddy, former roommate, and soul brother Mike sent me this video today.. I know him as an acoustic guitar singer-songwriter, and enjoyed his strumming in our apartment, and singing together.. A while back he told me he was experimenting with using this AI tool to write music.. Don’t know much about that, or what he was doing.. Just discovered he’s got a whole YT channel of these ditties.. Yes, it’s AI-assisted electronic music, but it’s interesting to see him venture into this territory and bring his musical knowledge and sensibilities into it, and also to hear his voice electronically filtered in this way.. Interesting.. And I can feel his spirit in this song and this message, loud and clear, as he’s having a rather tough time with his health, and just trying to get through his days.. This message has brought me to tears.. He may be moving back to Ptown from NY state, so we can be back together.. Looking forward to that reunion.. It’s been 15 years.. Love this man.. 💜

Hey y’all.. Here’s one not to be missed.. A rendition of one of my favorite songs ever made, done by Playing for Change, a network of musicians & singers that record together from around the world.. “Listen to the Music”, originally by The Doobie Brothers..

A new music video that just dropped from Heaven Zest — a man whose work manages to move me and touch me at my very core, and of course make me bawl my face off.. 😄 Another good one here.. Closed captions and headphones recommended!.. (And thanks to Abe for introducing this man to us.. @abramara )
