SonyaMemberHi, this an old one. Even though I worked in the music industry for decades and had access to masses of wonderful music this album is one that I always go back to. I played it constantly the summer/autumn I was working on a coastal bird reserve before I went up to uni. It’s not a “come on people, let’s get fired up” sort of album but is more of a quiet, internal inspiration album; I associate it with finding yourself, being close to nature, emerging, authenticity. Talk Talk went on to produce more experimental and much respected music but, for me, this is the special one.<div>

StevenMemberThis is one of my favourite albums of all time. I use it for vocal warm ups, and it always brings out memories of the end of summer/ beginning of fall. So I like to listen to it as the leaves change and start to fall. The album is by Big Wreck, called “Albatross” I couldn’t find a video that had the whole album, so I just posted my favourite song off the album

KevMemberWow, these guys are great, with a really pleasing sound.. I can see how that’s a favorite song.. That singer can really open up in his upper register, too.. I love to hear that.. And the guitar solo in the middle, employing a mandolin-style strumming technique — fantastic.

SonyaMemberI love being introduced to new music. I’ve heard of Big Wreck but never knowingly listened to any so just had a little YouTube binge, a kind of Manic Street Preachers meets Soundgarden meets U2 thing going on. They obviously mean a lot to people looking at some of the sweet comments below the videos. I can see why this track is your fave, I was already singing it second time around. I like a good husk in a voice! I listened to some Thornley as well, Easy Comes was good.

StevenMemberLol they’re a Canadian staple! Manic Street Preachers, I never thought of that comparison before but I like it. I always thought Ian Thornley was one of the few singers who could even come close to replacing Chris Cornell (If such a statement wasn’t sacrilege lol). And yeah Thornley is great too! I’m really glad you liked it 🙂

IfeOrganizerI’m so excited to share music with y’all! Thank y’all for jumping in. I’m going to share pretty randomly with these two little ones I have and also we live super low grid right now so it’s a town run most times if I’m posting. But please know that I love love love this and am so grateful for your participations! I’m still trying to figure out a good song to post first. I love so many, but my favorite? Hmm…I’m not sure. I’ll come back to this one when I figure it out or when I just organize a few songs that I feel like really speak to the culture we’re forming here. <3

IfeOrganizerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAxBgAGOssQ Here’s one song that has aligning and walking with/through/as/by source vibes. I’m not about the religious correlations, but everything else feels so on point.

ElizaMemberWell…if you want to do some subtle normie brainwashing…songs like “Be Healthy” from Dead Prez and this song by Deadly Hunta called “chemtrails” are two good songs to start with…I’ll keep adding to my comment as I come-up with more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEowIZi1jEU

ElizaMemberA adore Tommy hamilton as a person and artist – this is about the great bifurcation (I believe) if you ever have a chance to meet him: guitarist for Jrad, I followed Brother’s Past back in the day – introduce yourself! https://youtu.be/mVrfRswhS9o?si=U1qJAsFYFZcRR6SH

IfeOrganizerThis song got vibes! A little depressing the message, lol. But for sure I can see this eliciting some normie reflections for sure. My 4 year old son (Pèlé) definitely thought the guy was “magical” with all the graphic designs, lol. Thank for sharing!
