Great question!.. I’d love to hear about such experiences myself.. I’ve seen a little bit about wild lettuce, but not much — in fact, I think I’ve seen folks make a black tar extract out of the sap of the plant, through some sort of multi-step process.. And I think it has poisonous components that need to be accounted for.. (do I got that right?).. Wild Lettuce: Lactuca genus (one of the species in the photo below)..

For the big pain stuff, I have a buddy that swallows capsules of encapsulated plain Kratom leaf powder, for the chronic tweek and pain in his lower back, and it works.. (but that’s a tropical shrub)..

And hey, I’m about to make a new round of tinctures in the next couple days, and I got some Poppy seeds on-hand.. How ’bout I make a Poppy tincture and I/we experiment with it??.. Won’t make it super strong, just the typical tincture potency (1:4).. Might be wise to take one drop at a time to feel it out.. If this is effective, we’ve found an easy-to-make pain reliever we can grow ourselves.. Thoughts??

Hey Jena.. I posted a couple videos on Wild Lettuce in the Foraging discussion thread.. One of them shows how to extract the black tar.. Looks relatively easy, though a bit involved.. Hmm, but I have tincture experience, so maybe not so easy for a beginner.. I’m gonna do a round of tinctures in the next couple weeks.. Thinking I might harvest some wild lettuce around the ‘hood (it’s everywhere) and give it a try.. Might actually be very useful as a sleep aid.. 🙂

I briefly came across him quite a while back, but never plugged in, until the flower medicine video popped up.. really good stuff I think.. I like the way he sees and knows value in all aspects of a plant, and understands gentle nature medicine (as it pertains to flowers for sure)..
