StevenParticipantHey everybody! I’ve got a question. My daughter is developing a small cavity in her tooth, that’s bothering her a bit. So far, I’ve:
1. Cut out her refined sugars, cut down a little on natural sugars
2. Coconut oil pulls to keep the area happy
3. A regimen of stinging nettle tea to help aid in bone healing. I also have some nettle tincture I made but I havent used it on her yet
4. Aspen bark tincture on rare occasions, if the pain gets out of hand
Im just wondering what y’all would recommend trying? I don’t want to add too much more to the treatment, but if any of you have a suggestion that would be a better replacement for any of the steps I’ve listed, let me know! Its highly likely that it’s a baby tooth (she doesn’t know for sure if she’s lost it or not, and she just came to live with me since this summer, so I have no idea) since I can’t see having developed a cavity on an adult tooth already. I’ve kept her on a good diet since she’s been with me

ElizabethMemberI had a friend heal her cavities doing similar regimen, plus using tooth remineralization serum (Uncle Harry’s has a great product) as well as mineralizing tooth powder (as opposed to tooth paste).

AmberMemberYou are doing some great things so far! You might add the Alfa Vedic tooth serum for remineralization and just have her brush with that and swish around with it. I use this toothpaste and add a tiny bit of the Alfa Vedic tooth serum, and it has worked well for me! You also might want to look at her tissue salt, zodiac chart, because she may need some minerals in that! Dr. Lando has several videos on tissue salts.

barreOrganizerHey Steven
AV is releasing my Oil Pulling formula very soon: Oral Detox & Renew as a companion to AV Tooth Serum that has everything necessary to remineralize & heal teeth & soft tissues in the oral cavity. I have had the herbal infusions curing for about 5 months now. As with all new products from now on … they will be available to members first, and released to non-member customers 1-3 months later, while some of the limited production items from the lab will be exclusive to members always.
For those of you with an Aquacure machine … as you breath in Browns Gas thru the nasal canula in a typical 30 min session, every minute or so fill your mouth with the canula and hold in, while you continue the session … going back & forth from nostrils to mouth. I’ve seen amazing results with active cavities calming down, and ceasing to be an issue. As more people do this we can compare notes and discern how this equates to long-term healing, but so far it’s been phenomenal!

PennyMemberHi Barre,
I am excited for your oil pulling I have been doing organic sesame oil with cloves and then massaging with turmeric paste before bed. What are your thoughts on flossing? I stopped and started doing gentle water machine flossing instead and things seem to be getting better. I had stupid orthodontia at 27 which I wish I never ever did, (dumb vanity on my part) it really set back my dental health. I guess I am going to have to actually finally set up my browns gas machine…. ?

StevenMemberThanks Barre! Do you guys have the shipping to us Snow Mexicans going yet or is it still through that third party you guys have been using??
If you don’t mind me asking, and without divulging any trade secrets of course, what sets your formula apart from the standard oil pulling? I imagine my daughter won’t be the only person I’ll be helping with this issue, it would be nice to have a few ideas going forward

barreOrganizerOil Pulling accomplishes two objectives, as understood in Ayurveda where the practice originated: 1) systemic detoxification via the sublingual capillaries, and 2) improved health of both hard & soft tissues within the oral cavity.
AV Oral Detox – Renew does both in a much superior fashion than just straight oil of any type.
1) OILS: Sesame, Coconut & Black Seed are combined for a more versatile effect than just one of the oils alone, as they each possess unique attributes.
2) Three separate Sesame Oil infusions of Spilanthes, Neem & Echinacea are cured for 1/2 year, which comprises the largest percent of the three oil blend. These herbs were selected for their systemic detoxification effects as well as their ability to improve the integrity of tissues within the oral cavity.
3) Mastic Tree Resin is a critical element within the formula, and renown for its ability to improve dental health perhaps more than any other single element. This one ingredient alone will do wonders for dental & overall health.
4) Bee Propolis & Myrrh Resin are included for their incredible action on both oral & general health.
5) Essential Oils of Peppermint & Lemon round out the formula for their known effects as well.
There is no better formula available to greatly enhance the effects of traditional Oil Pulling! This blend is time-consuming and very expensive to produce, but I formulate every single product from both years of clinical experience/validation, and secondly … I make products that I would want to use for my own family!
Used in conjunction with AV Tooth Serum is unbeatable. The Serum has a much more complex Essential Oil blend, and remineralization elements that are most effective for multiple daily brushings, while the Detox-Renew further augments, with the addition of a 1st AM full body detox when Liver-Lymph most need it after a night of fluid stasis.
A couple of the other product suggestions on this thread are okay, but greatly lack the potency, versatility & herbal strategies offered in the two AV formulas.

ErinMemberI can’t wait for the new AV oil pulling product as well! I have been using the tooth serum for about a year and it’s great. I also mix baking soda with microcrystalline hydroxyapatite powder in addition to AV’s tooth serum. I had a LANAP surgery for periodontal disease last May and was at risk of losing 3 molars, but I have been in for 3 check ups since and my healing is going amazingly well so I believe what I am doing is working. I just bought a home ozone generator I plan to use too and will be applying Barre’s suggestion of putting the nasal cannulas in my mouth when inhaling Brown’s gas from my AquaCure as well.
My 6 year old daughter developed cavities in her baby teeth when she was 4 and we brush with baking soda & microcrystalline hydroxyapatite along with her kid’s xylitol toothpaste. Her holistic dentist also applied a layer of silver nitrate to the affected teeth and her cavities are all in the arrested development stage now so it has worked for us!
I order the microcrystalline hydroxyapatite from a company called Heart & Soil, it’s in their Bone Matrix product that comes in capsules and I break them open.

barreOrganizerI briefly entertained using microcrystalline hydroxyapatite in my Tooth Serum, but decided to refrain from using bovine slaughterhouse left-overs that are the basis of all collagen and hydroxyapatite toothpaste products. The Pearl powder in combination with other elements in the formula are superior in effect anyway. No disrespect to folks using such products, or getting into the vegan vs carnivore debate, but I make formulation decisions based on 1) effectiveness, 2) energetic purity, and 3) ingredients that do not exact an unnecessary ecological or otherwise toll on sentient life forms. My comments are not intended to moralize or lecture, but only to reveal the pragmatics and mindset that goes into my creations.

Leslie BalataMemberI started going to a biological dentist and he said I need a ceramic-based restore and crown. I have no discomfort and am putting it off. I was told it could crack and I could lose the tooth. Is it possible to avoid this and rebuild my tooth with wonderful products such as yours?

DaveMemberThis is a great thread. Can anyone recommend a dentist in the SF bay area? My wife has some dental issues and would like to find someone like minded. For me, I have good oral health and haven’t been to the dentist in about 4 years. The older part of me sometimes gets self conscious for not going… ‘you gotta go’. ? If I have a healthy mouth is there a good reason to go to the dentist? I really don’t want to go (when I do I think they look at me like Im a kook) ?. Really curious what you guys do? Well, there are some great products and reads in this thread. I’ll keep digging. Thank you.

Thank you, thank you.

Barry MurrayMemberplenty of good dental health recommendations here. It seems to be my Achilles heel too, peridontal “dis-ease”, to be specific. I was told several years ago that I had receding gums but I took a more “self determination” approach and just sort of ignored it as it wasn’t causing me any problems. I have been following a sort of LCHF paleo type diet for over 10yrs, I’ve been competing in trail/mountain running, and I have been following as “anti-inflammtory” lifestyle as I can. Yet, a recent scan a few months ago showed “high risk” receding gums and bone loss.
The dentist claims there is no cure. They also don’t seem to know what the cause is other than just saying “its genetic” or that you are just one of the susceptible ones (to build up of calculus).
I have not found or ever spoken to a holistic dentist and my dentists so far are your typical allopathetic type.
So its been a frustrating journey given my preference for the bioterrain approach and how I have not had any other major medical issues in my 45yrs so far.
I have been oil pulling for years on and off. I look forward to trying the new AV product. I’ve used various other ointments and mouthwashes containing tea tree, clove oils, neem etc. I even went through a period of using sodium peroxide . I’m a Capricorn, so I am taking extra Calc Phosphate now also.
So I’d be interested to hear if anyone has any other recommendations. Also, maybe Barre knows, but I’d be interested to know more about the potential causes of gum disease and the mechanisms behind curing it from a bioterrain perspective.

ErinMemberBarry, I can very much relate to your situation. I was told by my biological dentist in 2017 that I had gum disease, but was in disbelief as I had no pain or bleeding gums. I stayed with that dentist for a few years and had safe mercury removal and ozone injections, but in some ways they were still a little too conventional for my liking and I wanted a second opinion.
I now have a great holistic biological dentist who initially supported my efforts for a non-invasive approach to the periodontal disease I was experiencing. I received laser treatments, had a minor procedure to align my bite to decrease the psi of my bite to help protect my teeth from more bone loss and have been using AV’s tooth serum, apply topical ozone at home, oil pulling on and off, live a healthy lifestyle, etc. but things kept getting worse for me too.
I traveled from Colorado to Integrative Dentistry in San Diego to have a LANAP procedure (periodontal surgery using a laser). My dentist in Colorado originally referred me to a periodontist in CO who does the LANAP but she wanted me to see a surgeon to have 3 molars extracted and refused to do the LANAP without antibiotics. So I discussed with my dentist and he referred me to the office in San Diego which offered a more holistic approach and we’re fine with me not using antibiotics. The periodontist there did not believe I needed any extractions and they were shocked by my quick recovery which apparently they never see. They attributed it to the healthy lifestyle and natural interventions I have been doing. I used a combination of colloidal silver, hydrogen water from my AquaCure, salt water, nascent iodine and AV’s tooth serum for my healing. May 2024 will be one year since the LANAP and I go back to San Diego for a check up, but the 3 check ups with my dentist in CO show I am continuing to heal very well.
At Integrative Dentistry they scraped under my gum line looked we looked at it under the microscope and could see a lot of rod shaped bacteria. The dentist said they were spirochetes (I also have a Lyme disease dignosis) which he said caused the periodontal disease because they were so deeply hidden in my gums.
Understanding a little about pleomorphism and that bacteria don’t actually cause disease I do wonder if an isopathic remedy could have solved this issue without the LANAP surgery. But I didn’t know as much about that a year ago and was concerned at the thought of losing 3 molars.
I would love to know Barre’s thoughts on this too!

Sue KittrellMemberWow, Barry and Erin, this sounds like my prognosis too and I am putting off doing major procedures that my holistic dentist is suggesting cuz I want to heal my receding gums in a more holistic manner. I really appreciate you sharing your experiences. I am going to look into the suggestions in the thread as well.

Barry MurrayMemberInteresting @erin.young , at least you have been able to find a holistic dentist ., they are few and far between here in Ireland. So I guess you recommend this LANAP treatment , along with all your own therapies and supplements ?
It seems to be a big grey area . The fact that lanap claims to regenerate gum tissue and bone contradicts what the standard allopathic dentist says .
It’s also frustrating when you’ve been on a healthy lifestyle bioterrain type of journey . I look at others drinking coke, eating processed crap etc and they have no periodontal issues !!?

ErinMemberWow this podcast looks great! I’ll definitely be listening to some of these episodes. Thanks for sharing it.
And here is my delayed response to your question about LANAP (sorry about that I sometimes lose track of all these conversations!). I would still love to know Barre’s thoughts on periodontal disease from a bioterrain perspective, but with the knowledge I currently have, I would recommend the LANAP as a less invasive way to help your gums heal along with the other supportive natural remedies I and others have shared on this discussion thread. For me, seeing the bone loss in my x-rays and understanding the possibility of losing 3 molars before I was 40 was the catalyst for my decision to finally have the LANAP.
I understand your frustration in seeing others who do not take care of themselves having no immediate health consequences while people like us who nurture our health are experiencing problems. But I do firmly believe that we will experience greater health and longevity by taking good care of ourselves and those who do not are ultimately lessening the quality and longevity of their lives.

ErinMemberAnd I forgot to mention I have seen my own gums regenerate after the surgery, so I know from experience it can happen. I return to the office in San Diego in May for my one year follow up and will post an update after that too.
I do have one spot of inflammation I can feel with my tongue around the tooth that had the most bone loss and infection, but I have been using ADV’s “DMSO with added nutrients” for a week or so on it and that inflammation is going down.

Barry MurrayMemberInteresting Erin , thanks for sharing .. will look into LANAP .. I know of DMSO too . Good to hear you are seeing your gums regenerate… crazy that the standard dentist thinks this is impossible . Sure we’ll keep this thread going as it’s ultimately an unsolved mystery of a health issue , so let us know how you get on in May !

ElizaMemberI’ve really put my teeth through hell the last few years – so i mean…I shouldn’t add my tip…
BUT when I was totally feeling great I was more focused on manual versus chemical (like a water pic flosser) and my tip is to use a q tip to clean the outside or the hard to reach molars to de-scale any stuff without irritating your gums.
