Oh no… Hot Flashes!

I was on hormones for decades, as many of us around my age I imagine. I tried getting off a few years ago, but the hot flashes were way too annoying. Black cohosh had no effect. I just got off them this year – first trying bioidentical serums, but no way to titrate those, so the hot flashes came back. Got back on the patch a year ago, and cut them 1/8 per month, having mild flashes most of the time. Last one came off about 2 weeks ago, and the hot flashes persist.

Ooo something else to try: SAGE! https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10363264/#:~:text=In%20another%20study%2C%20taking%20three,in%20week%2012%20of%20treatment

Hi Elin. I’m going to chime in here with some little things. I’m sure you’re already doing all this, but filtered water, organic food (especially meat & dairy), natural toiletries & beauty products need to be mentioned. If you read the posts about leptin above here in this group & more specifically watch the Sarah Kleiner video, blocking blue light at night would help to try if you’re not doing that already. It will help get your three master glands that Dr. Barre has mentioned ship-shape. Many clients see huge improvements in hot flashes after implementing circadian principles. ?

Thanks, Amanda! Great suggestions and yep… I’m on to all the things. The hot flashes wake me up so that’s a catch 22 haha! Got some spagyric sage to use next. whee!

Bollocks! That must be so frustrating! Last thing I’ll mention, just in case, is diindolylmethane, commonly known as DIM. I like the brand Solaray. I take up to three 100mg a day when I need the extra support. Maybe read the reviews on Amazon (I know, I know…) to see if it sounds like it could be a good fit? Either way, sending hugs!

@Elin I sure hope this all leads you to a better place. It sounds like you are really working it! I’ve recently learned that the two shifts I mentioned taking up are not in themselves responsible for my hot flashes but stress hormones play a roll as well, no big shock! So I’m not 100% out of them but they are mild when active. Take good care Elin, I know you will ☺

Now that I know more about tissue salts, I’m thinking I should have tried those first and not after all the other things. LOL! Found this site and this recommendation for which should help: https://secretenergy.com/hot-flashes-natural-remedies/

I’ve just been taking #4 and #7 under the tongue, but I think I need to do the solution version!

Cell Salts to Help with Hot Flashes

To make a cell salt solution, put up to 10 tablets of each cell salt in a 16- to 24-ounce bottle; fill with water and swirl to dissolve tablets. Sip throughout the day.

#4 Ferr phos 6X – hot flashes, heat flushes and inflammatory conditions
#6 Kali phos 6X – hot flashes with nervous irritability
#7 Kali sulph 6X – hormonal issues associated with liver imbalances

Note: #7 is my birth salt, so I need that one anyway for dry skin as well as the hot flashes!

      “<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”><font size=”2″>#7 KALI SULPH (Kali Sulphuricum; Potassium Sulphate)</font>

      • <font size=”2″>yellow mucus, later stages of illness</font>
      • <font size=”2″>congestion and cough worse in evening</font>
      • <font size=”2″>dandruff</font>
      • <font size=”2″>yellow coated tongue</font>
      • <font size=”2″>yellow crusts on eyelids</font>
      • <font size=”2″>gas, poor digestion </font>

<font size=”2″>Found in epidermis and epithelial cells. Carries oxygen to the cells. Used for hot flashes; chills; weariness; heaviness; giddiness; boxed in feelings; stomach catarrh; inflammatory conditions; eruptions of the skin; shifting pains; palpitations; anxiety; fear; sadness; toothaches; headaches and pains in limbs that tend to increase indoors especially in warm and close rooms or in the warm air of the summer; yellow/slimy catarrhal discharges; dandruff; psoriasis and diseases of the nails (rough or ribbed).”</font>

      <font size=”2″>
      </font>

<font size=”2″>I’m pretty sure that using #7 and #12 for the last few months has healed a formerly splitting nail!</font>

Just a couple of comments: 1) Menopausal symptoms are a result of issues that were in the formative stages during pre-puberty, so these are the priority issues that actually need to be addressed; 2) although any particular natural remedy may prove useful for one individual, does not at all mean it will produce similar results in another. There are way too many idiosyncratic variables to account for that will determine the priority needs to abate persistent symptoms. I typically do not reply to many health issues posts due to this fact, as general recipe advice often leads to frustrating trial and error cycles. The Bioterrain approach is the only science-based approach, and I will begin posting more DIY protocols toward this end as we move into the winter months.

Ah! interesting… will see if the cell salts help, as they are good in general anyway, and I’m in that frustrating trial and error process haha! I don’t know what developmental factors could be in play here, and I would imagine it could be a huge range of possibilities. I’m getting a biofield tuning with Chance Garton in a couple of weeks which I anticipate will be enlightening… otherwise… will just keep on keeping on until my system recalibrates itself…. whew… looking forward to to the DIY information for sure! Yay!

Well, I’ve been suffering with these things for well over a year now, and nothing has made a dent: herbs, cell salts, cardio, no caffeine, no spicy foods, intermittent fasting, acupuncture, using my Spooky 2, tuning forks and more for the biofield (a session with Chance Garton), a scalar wave treatment, Naet, Body Code emotional clearing, professional homeopathy… no change in the hot flashes at all.

I’m pretty much at my wits’ end. I’m up 2-4 times a night with them and am interrupted 3-10 times day. I really need to sleep. I even got an Oura ring recently to monitor my sleep, and my scores are ok, but not great.

Unless anyone here has a modality that can truly get rid of these quickly 100%, I’m going to have to go back on hormones so I can SLEEP.

    🙁

    This has been so frustrating.

Yeah, other than that, life is amazing. The future is looking pretty bright these days, right? I am really grateful that fhis is my only real “complaint.” Life is good. God is good. :). and thanks for all the support here for SURE!

Elin! I understand your frustration! I was in the same boat… major sweaty hot flashes at least 12 times a day. Horrible sleep. Super tired. I even worked with a homeopath for a year. Nothing worked long-term UNTIL I listened to an interview of Dr. Garrett Smith on Alec Zeck’s podcast The Way Forward. I was very intrigued. He challenged everything I thought I knew about nutrition. So, like many of us in this space, when I get challenged, I like to dive in and see what’s up. I binge listened to his Youtube livestreams under the name Nutrition Detective. I liked what I learned so much that I joined his Love Your Liver program. It’s a wonderful space with great people and a lot to learn. I’ve been implementing the concepts and principles he teaches for about five months now. I’ve made a lot of big changes to my diet and supplementation. And the hot flashes are fading!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the last couple months I only have one or two major hot flashes a day. The other flashes start and then ebb away without turning into anything major. It seems like a miracle. I also have a ton of energy and am sleeping much better. And my skin is clearing up! Beth Martens also interviewed Garrett Smith a few times. One of the interviews focuses on women’s health. I know another lady in the program who is experiencing the same relief from her hot flashes that I am. One of the many things I like about Dr Smith is that he understands that virus theory is garbage and that cancer is simply our body keeping us alive. He totally gets it.

I hope this info will prove helpful!

Thank you! I may look into that as it sounds like a solid way to health in general… but I still think I need absolute relief from the hot flashes for the time being. SO glad this was a solution for you. I will probably come back to all of this later… 😀

Hey Elin, I’d love to support your body’s journey to well-being and balance. I do a form of energy medicine called PureBioenergy. It can be done remotely. Our bodies are self-healing and this modality just helps support your body’s own intelligence. Here’s more info on my website: https://www.perfectchild.org/mind-body-spirit

Thank you so much, Belinda! Your site and offerings look excellent.

I’m continuing to work with my functional health practitioner, my homoeopath, my scalar biofeedback technician, and with a friend who does The Body Code and Emotion Code healing as well as Naët, but I’ll will definitely keep your site in mind if I need more support!

        😁

You’re welcome! Yeah, this way does take time. It focuses on getting to the root of the problem and then healing that. No telling how long that will take, as we are all different and need to heal from different things. Best of luck to you!

    How are you doing Elin?

Hi, Sherri, I’m actually doing a LOT better now that I’m back on the HRT. I had to give up trying alternatives so I could sleep again, and I’m finally getting there on a 1/2 combipatch. After 3 serious attempts, I doubt I’ll try again to go off them, and that’s ok. I’ll be switching to bioidenticals, even though they aren’t “different” per se, but the patches are really itchy, so the creams will be nicer to use. My body is giving me clear signals that it needs the extra estrogen to continue indefinitely , and not just for the hot flashes, but also to mitigate UTIs, osteoporosis, and mild sleep apnea (I developed that this year, too). With all that getting cleared up, I can relax, sleep, focus on maintenance and longevity protocols. SO appreciative of the support and ideas here! … and thanks so much for asking, Sherri!

Thank you for the update and do I ever get it! At some point quality of life has to take priority. And truly, getting progressively worn down from it all seems counter productive to a holistic health journey. You’ve been incredible in your pursuit and effort. I thought of you and these conversations on here as I continue to work on my own imbalances and possible root causes. I recently uncovered some things I thought could be worth sharing as it seems they’re in the hidden epidemic arena and could be unknowingly affecting many of us. I don’t remember if these are things you’ve already looked into and I wouldn’t be surprised if you have. I’ve tested for having a pretty heavy mycotoxin load, also lyme which evidently goes hand in hand with mold. I also need cavitation surgery which is connected because whatever lyme may or may not be it can hide out in our mouths-in spaces which were not remedied well such as root canals and most commonly wisdom tooth extraction sites. It’s all a lot to explain but the bottom line here is we’re dealing with things that affect our master hormone…the pituitary gland, which then affects all other hormones. This lyme, mold thing can be easy to overlook and miss and the varied symptoms can seem unrelated. So just thought I’d put it out there, at the very least it seems knowing the pituitary needs extra love can do us all good. Continue to take good care and enjoy your recent liberation from symptoms ✨

Thanks! my next steps are to reduce histamine overload and let my body recover from that imbalance, then do some smaller consistent calorie reductions to get 10-15 pounds of actual weight off and not just water which all yoyos back on… unbeknownst to me in the past. Also, making sure I’m not overdoing the pilates workouts and getting more stretching in to keep all the muscle groups happy and not twinging. ha! and even more importantly, now that I’m sleeping so much better, having the bandwidth for reading, prayer, and music….. 😀
