    Hi Divya,

I recommend no makeup. However, if you want to have a more even skin tone I recommend rice powder. If you have darker skin it may not be for you but if you don’t I love Little Bits Historical Apothecary on Etsy. She’s a very knowledgeable sweetheart. The rice powder is inexpensive and the lip tints are lovely. Sample sizes are a great way to go.

If you are older or in a dry climate I recommend using a neroli hydrosol after a light dusting with rice powder.

Lymphatic beauty massage with a gua shen or jade or rose quartz roller and Passion Neroli oil is an amazing inexpensive way to boost and honor what you have.

Tremella mushrooms will give you a good foundation from the inside:). A great Chinese Beauty was known for eating tremella, excellent for anti-aging and radiation stresses. You may also consider pearl powder but I am not sure of a good source. Your skin loses natural color when you wear makeup. So Beet juice and rice powder are my fav recommendations. Hope that’s helpful. Let your light shine through your skin with the love in your heart. That’s the most beautiful makeup.

Be the blossom that you are

    Blessings

Thanks Victoria for your reply and suggestions- I will look at those. I use makeup very rarely like 3-5 times an year for special occasions. I have acne marks and scars so I am looking for a natural concealer. Cultivatelevate sells good pearl powder.

I use amethyst Gua sha and roller everyday with argan oil as well as face yoga. These things do soooo much. Dermatology is a scam and cosmetic surgery is just downright dangerous. I am going to look into the rice powder, I have personally had a heck of a time finding a clean powder. I am so glad you posted.

    Hi Divya,

I like ilia, Beauty Counter, and RMS beauty. All are very good, clean makeup brands. I especially like ilia’s concealer! https://iliabeauty.com/products/balos-st3

Thanks Sara. Ilia does not rank very good on ewg. I sometimes wonder if ewg is reliable. Have you heard about Saie beauty products?

So I just searched my app for Saie, and they look really good.

    Hi Divya,

I am currently in the process of cleaning up my hair and makeup products. I use an app called “on skin” and you can scan the barcode to see how a product rates, what certifications it has such as vegan or the cruelty free bunny. One thing I have discovered is that products from various “natural” companies can range from excellent to not great.

However, the mascara from Pacifica rates great. Some of their other stuff not so much. The tinted moisturizers and bases from two companies- Mad Hippie and Beauty by nature rate excellent. These three companies are the best I have found. The app can offer cleaner alternative if you search for something and it rates below your comfort level.</font>

I also switched to henna for my hair a few years ago. Hair color is super toxic. Henna like light mountain or ancient sunrise are very clean. They are just ground up plant. Anything from Pura d’or comes up clean as well. They have hair and skin products.

I love this topic. I could talk about skincare and makeup all day! I really like the brand Silk Naturals for makeup, but for a good concealer I like Erin’s Faces.

Hmm…I like Ilia too so I’m sad to read that they don’t score very well with EWG. Crunchi is a clean brand too. I think you need to choose a rep for Crunchi as they are a direct to consumer brand. For lip/cheek color I LOVE Axiology. This brand is 100% clean and for the planet. https://axiologybeauty.com/pages/our-story

Awesome info, ladies – thank you!

For hair: innersense – it makes your hair so healthy and it is very clean! (Not that my hair currently is any indication – you’ll have to take my word for it.) The lightening one really works, btw. Overall, you will notice immediately how much healthier and stronger your hair is..and that it’s clean. (I mean..if you want salon quality – and don’t have the luxury of bathing in the great state of Jefferson primal waterfall…which is obviously the best way to cleanse your locks 😉 https://innersensebeauty.com

This may give you some options to try for cleaner makeup. Let me know if anyone tries one of these and if they are pleased. 🙂
