I mightof titled the topic misleadingly, dunno. Its more of a joke, the experiment I did years ago but it might stem have some interesting branches of ideas. The video of teh experiment is here:

As I was into drone racing sports, but experimenting all kinds of ideas these little acrobatic machines inspired me to. I made a drone seeding machine, kind of a guerilla activity, going and seeding at a distance where memyself wouldnt be noticed.
There is another aspect of it which is an experience this kind of piloting really gives me, ant that is a coreographic number, a kind of dancing up in heaven, because its a fully merged first-person realtime experience, a body extension. It also have some spooky connotations in a light of drone-agriculture but there you have it -rather than giving it a strong opinion, it sometimes gives interesting results to try something like that out filtering your own way.
But “seeding while dancing” – a friend of mine is printing large lino-cuts dancing on the pressing plate to give printing pressure with her own feet and dynamics. In a larger land, seeding freeform while dancing, its like leaving living, growing traces of the dance that took place there.

There is this very strong image in I guess every folklore about hand seeding a field of crops. Dancing with the land.

Ott!.. Brother!.. You so speak my language.. Lol.. Love it all.. Spreading seeds by drone? — brilliant!.. I’ve always been a guerrilla seed-spreader myself.. Just the other week went down to my local park to subtly scatter some seeds all around in the beds.. Got more to do!!.. Lots more.. Lol..

Don’t think I’d ever thought of aerial spreading.. But I have seen reforestation efforts where they drop tree seedlings out of planes.. But I do also throw seeds and plant cuttings with seed heads off my 6th floor balcony, onto the back patio of the building, and into neighboring yards.. Lol.. They’ll thank me later.. ?

And also, dancing while seed scattering in the garden — that’s next level of love and goodness.. I’m doing that from *now* on.. Ha!

And if you don’t use a drone, you can maybe make paper airplanes.. Lol.. Or, at the least, clay seed bombs.. Or maybe rig up some sort of mini-hot-air balloons.. Or east Asian style candle-driven paper lanterns.. Lol.. ?

theres actually a guerilla seeder written in Estonian folklore. A book named “Kevade” (Spring) which is a mustread for every student here has a character Toots who is always trouble everywhere. And of course when its time to plant seeds in Spring he goes mixing everything and does in wild way. So in everyday language these lush permaculture gardens are named after this character Tootsi peenar (Fields of Toots), rich and with lots of variety (some say random)

Oh . my . god .. I so relate to Toots!.. “Trouble everywhere” spreading seeds.. Hahaha.. And jeez, it can’t be coincidence that the word for spring starts with the letters “Kev”.. Lol..

      Love it all.. ?

I wonder if this book and this type of seeding was inspired by what the deva kingdom does in our gardens. I cannot see them but some of my friends do and they can see them working on the flowers etc. so in a way your are tuning into the necessary flow. this is so inspiring. thank you for sharing ❤

Love this comment.. Love it, love it.. A reminder indeed to let go and tune into the spirits of the devas and feys and whatnot.. It’s relatively easy to do if you just let go and let the spirit of play come forth.. Have been in that world many times and traipsed about.. It’s the Land of Ease and Laughter..

With my analytical mind, though, I can get too into rational and *maybe* a bit uptight ? — “has to be this way”, “seeds need to be sown just right”, “this plant needs this”.. Blah blah.. I’ve been embracing more recently just letting go and being a steward for the Nature Order to do its thang, and just step out of the way and relish in it.. Man, gotta get out of this apartment & back on the dirt!.. It’s gonna happen, and soon!

Gisele — please remind me — you have outdoor space, dirt, a garden to play in??

        ?

Kev, Thanks for reminding me to let the nature decide. Im defenetly too uptight with going along the line and instructions in garden because just my few first years trying out.

Yes, the active and rational and materialist approach has its place — it’s how we learn to “do” it.. But balancing it with natural flow is important.. I have learned through the years that the best and perfect way to garden is simply to embody the correct or proper personal energy.. And for me, that energy is “ease” and “trust”.. As soon as you start fussing and worrying about your plants, and getting uptight, it just doesn’t work.. It just doesn’t.. I’m thinking more and more that my next outdoor garden (homestead, hopefully soon) might be a result of seed scattering while dancing, and planting random trees and things here & there and just watch to see what happens, and hang out with faeries.. Lol.. Okay, maybe I’ll fuss over my Kale plants a bit, why not??.. ?

Thanks again for the tips. A state of the mind would be the key, yes. Its weird to worry about being late with this or that job in the garden or being unsatisfied with how plants look, having expectations etc as these surroundings are naturally elevating mood. Theres some programming involved in my case, because I remember being kid in the 90s here and after soviet collapse we were going thru some hard times and having something to harvest frim garden really made difference for the stomach. So maybe thats why.
Your image about freeform garden, action-painting/action-seeding reminds me automatic writing, automatic scribbling where hand really takes over and channels most natural ways. Flow-state is THE way in the garden.

I glad it resonated with you. I am in an apt condo, do have a big balcony. i have a close friend( italian with his family help in his backyard continuing their growing traditions) nearby who i have access to . my friend is connected with the local farmers( he buys direct from them) and is positioned to help us get supplies direct. he comes in town every week, we meet on a regular basis . its good to keep contact as I live in the city. It has its plus and minus.
