If you’ve been running an Embassy Server, what has been your experience and have you noticed any major issues?

While I know the Start9 guys and think what they’re doing is super cool, I haven’t messed around with their tech yet. Been too busy with getting this site launched and trying to keep up with QORTAL!

Qortal looks like it’s finally ready for prime time! I’ve bought and sold a few things in the Q-Shops, super excited about that feature.

I’m McCoon Ranch. Do you have one?

Nice! I’ve seen that! We haven’t created a store yet since we’ve been so busy here with the launch of this site but I may create a store for people to book me to DJ 🙂

I’ve been running this for awhile and it works really well…once you figure out the syncing.

When I started, I used a Raspberry Pi, but that turned out to be way too under powered. So I moved it to a Dell Optiplex mini and it’s perfect. Start9 runs in a VM on Linux, so I can also run other apps like Qortal on the same machine.

I moved from 1Password to Vaultwarden and my contacts, kanban board and calendar now all run on Start9 via Nextcloud. They all sync to my phone and laptop, so I’m off Google services for day-to-day stuff except for email.

The server also backs up and restores easily to my local NAS drive.

If you want to keep more of your data under your control, check it out.
