Bitcoin on Robinhood

Hello! We have Bitcoin on Robinhood (not in wallet). I am trying to access my account through the app after a few months. They want me to upload my driver’s license and give my face biometric for identification in order to login. I cannot contact customer care on phone as well, the automated msg asks me to login to the app and call from there.

Can you please suggest what I can do in this situation. I would like to move my bitcoin out of Robinhood to a decentralized safe platform. Thank you!

You created an account of Robinhood without having to give them any ID? Crazy businesses.

Its obviously too late now but you should never buy or sell BTC in an exchange.

If you must use a public Exchange always buy Stable Coins Like USDC or whatever you prefer and then move the stablecoin into a private wallet and buy whatever token you are planning.

Everyone has their methods and I am sure there are plenty I would love to hear.

Transferring crypto into and out of your Robinhood Crypto account is fast and easy. You can consolidate your coins into one account so it’s easier to track your portfolio, move supported coins into your Robinhood account so you can trade those coins without commission, and more.

When it comes to crypto, it’s important that you—and only you—can transfer coins into or out of your Robinhood Crypto account.

To enable crypto transfers, you’ll need to verify your identity and add two-factor authentication to your account. After you complete those steps, it can take up to 5 business days to review your info and enable crypto transfers with Robinhood..

    I hope that helps

Yeah unfort you agreed to their T&C when signing up to use their centralized services which includes KYC (know your customer) so there’s no way around it if you want to get that coin out! They have the keys to that Bitcoin.

It’s good to have at least 1 on/off ramp from fiat to crypto and that requires ID. Not a big deal.
