Hi Dr Barre, hope you are well 🙂

I saw a previous question regarding histamine intolerance but didn’t see a response there so giving it another go here. In the last few days I have felt as though I have developed what I figure to be histamine intolerance. I have been waking up at 3am the past 4 nights with full body itching and a slight wired feeling. I have sipped on bone broth, eaten sauerkraut, kefir and shell fish over the past week, so pretty much all the things that would cause a histamine reaction. Periodically I test my personal wavelength using a technique I learning in foundational biogeometry and tested weak when testing with the above mentioned foods, but when tested the same foods a few months ago I was fine. Something has recently shifted in my gut and I am not sure why…

    My questions are

    1) how can I test to be sure this is histamine intolerance that i am experiencing?

    2) what steps can I take to heal myself and to move past these symptoms?

Thank you kindly for any help you or the community can offer ?

    Hi Bella,

I’ve also experienced what I feel is a histamine response periodically over the past several years. Like you I can associate these episodes with fermented food and drinks. I’ve always felt there was likely an underlying build up I didn’t realize until the scale was tipped as I don’t always have that reaction to fermented things. I wanted to respond to let you know you’re not alone and also, I happened to recently come across a bit of info an acupuncturist once gave me.

Thank you for sharing ? this does help a lot. And its nice to know I am not alone ? I have seen the liver connection pop up periodically during my research into the issue.

And my reactions happen sporadically as well, especially to bone broth. Have you implemented a protocol for liver support that has helped you? Do you still experience symptoms occasionally?

Oh boy, this could be a big discussion! As for liver support the most significant things that come to mind right now are; The amazing liver and gallbladder flush (Andreas Moritz), weekly coffee enemas (using AV Therapeutic coffee), Ayurvedic seasonal cleanses, hot detox baths (salt and baking soda), quitting bio-identical hormone replacement (and anything else that would burden my liver), years of emotional processing/clearing and stress reduction. I had an experience a few weeks ago that seemed histamine related but also involved horrible acid indigestion after a very definitely triggering meal. All in all I’m dealing with issues on a few fronts but I believe they’re all related and I’m on a path to healing ?

@Sherri , Thanks for sharing that visual! I do the coffee enemas (weekly and w/AV’s brand) and I have tried the liver/gall bladder flush (also as per Moritz) about every 8 weeks last fall. I’m now about every 4 months which is also as how he described. I could see how flush changed for me over that time and could see that currently it’s no longer needed as often.

I have had histamine issues from time to time and find that most vinegars just don’t work for me, for example. While I don’t follow it, interestingly I found some correlations with the blood type diet recommendations for my blood type. I had very briefly looked at it in the past and thought there was nothing to it, but then heard a podcast the writer did and a few things made a lot of sense. He does say it works about 80% of the time for most people and not every thing in what is recommended for your blood type may apply to you. Which all makes sense since we are all unique. It has to do with enzymes (I believe) that some people have in abundance and others do not, as to how well they digest certain foods. So, there’s that.

Could time of year as in pollen be some sort of a factor right now? Or just your body telling you it is time to cleanse/detox somewhat? Just a thought on that, too.

It’s good to hear your thoughts, Mary. I think my blood-type also says to avoid vinegar and most condiments too. Maybe we’re the same. I try to follow my guidelines with some adjustments found through kinesiology, as like you said there are often variables.

I’ve wondered if this time of the year is worse for flare ups and I would say it seems to be. I’ve started to look into Endotoxemia lately and wonder if it could be connected to Mast cell activation (hence histamine). It certainly seems to point to some other things I’m experiencing.

Congratulations on your successful progress with the liver/gallbladder flushes! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to continue after the first four due to blood sugar issues but I found it effective for sure.

Hi @Sherri Thank you for the sharing your experience ☺️ It is great to hear that you are healing and have seen progress over time. I have been working my way up to doing the liver/gallbladder flush but have been experiencing a lot of resistance to it. Probably more of a reason to get in there and flush whatever it is that my liver is holding onto!

            Hello Bella,

Your hesitancy is warranted ? If I remember correctly It’s recommended to do many flushes, over a year’s time. I think I took up doing them with each moon phase and did four in a row. The first two flushes were pretty fine and quite productive. The second two were hard. I felt weak and awful, which may be telling of the necessity. Between that and a blood sugar regulation issue I chose not to continue…mostly because of my inability to go any period of time without eating. Unfortunately this set me up for gallbladder issues thereafter because of the incompleteness of the process. It’s all explained in the book but suffice it to say it’s a commitment you want to be able to follow through.

And back to histamine…have you looked into Mast Cell Activation?

    Hi Bella

This question could go in a few directions, so let’s stick with the liver thread for now. The comments for Liver detox are all great, and you may look into a product I used for years which is a concentrate of Yakitron, a detox hormone made in the liver. I found it useful for regulating histamine reactions, and Standard Process Labs has it in a product called Antronex (definitely not vegan). SPL is an old-school company, but some of their products still have a place. My preference is to fix things upstream in a more customized fashion, but I can’t go there unless I can get my head under the hood so to speak.

“Allergies” viewed from a German New Medicine understanding shed a much different light on the subject, and that’s a whole different discussion as well. Adrenal function shouldn’t be overlooked before we jump into biliary blame exclusively. You might enjoy my last post, “A Grain of Salt” that describes a test for adrenal function. We could go into a huge discourse on how hyper/hypoadrenia can lead to the exact symptoms that you are describing, but take the test for a spin and see first hand how they’re doing!

Hi @barre thank you kindly for your time in responding to my question! I did see your recent post titled a “A Grain of Salt” Being so new to bioterrain medicine and understanding the systems of our bodies, I need to take my time to reread it and really digest the information. I look forward to more posts and continuing to learn ?

A bit of a remedy while you are deep diving and searching up stream is 2 tablespoons of local honey a day. At least for the hay fever type issues. The idea behind this is; if you eat what the bees make from the what’s in the air you are reacting to, you will have less of a reaction to it. Blessings from “brother buzz” ? ?

About the liver flush, one can do it over three days.

I have been suffering from histamine intolerance recently, as my naturopath diagnosed me with Mast Cells Activation Syndrome.

Be that as it may, about the liver flush, I did one over this Friday, Saturday and Sunday after perhaps 10 years.

Once I did two in a row, as per Dr Moritz’s book, and afterwards coming to see my bio terrain doctor, he noticed my liver was working way better, using this Acupuncture Meridian Assessment, I believe. He was surprised that it worked so much better so I revealed I did the flush. He said that I continue doing it.

This weekend though I combined the instructions in Dr Moritz’s book with the flush described by Rob Stuart in this video below. The main difference is in the preparation phase of the flush.

Rob is saying you just need to eat 10 apples on the fist day (out of three), instead of drinking a litter of apple juice for the period of 5-6 days. So I ate apples and drank the juice on the second day (as per Moritz), thus shortening the flush for three days. On Sunday, after the flush, I felt like someone gave me a new liver, and a new digestion fire.

Thank you, Mary, too. And welcome!

Someone wrote above that histamine intolerance may be related to fermented foods. During covid I devised a strategy to protect myself using a fermentation based product from Germany called Regulat Pro Bio, among other things. I think from the start of covid I must have ingested 20 bottles of this fermentation based supplement, which was also strengthened with Vitamin C. My bio terrain doctor told me to stop using it, since it is fermentation based, in light of my histamine intolerance.

There are videos on Youtube showing Regulat Pro under darkfield showing it is full of Symbionts, these basic microbial forms all life is permeated with. Bigelsen Brothers mention somewhere that if Symbionts are pronounced in blood, your immune function could be overactive. So, it seems I could have stressed my immune system too much with this, on top of experiencing several really stressful episodes at work just before the symptoms related to MCAS appeared.

Also my blood under darkfield looked like all the red blood cells are together as if forming long stacked chains. My doctor named it Roulleaux effect. My comment to this blood was, how was it I am alive! I have had my blood checked under darkfield since 2009 and it has never been like this.

I speculated this is a consequence of spike protein toxicity, among other things, for which I took Augmented NAC from an Italian supplier which they claim is good for detoxifying spike. My second visit and darkfield showed much improved blood, but it still looked like I have cancer. My doctor gave me Pleo Sanuvis which is used for cancer patients.

Oh my, you have been through a lot! I didn’t think about how that might work with histamine issues, but I’m glad you shared that. Surely, getting your liver functioning better has to help everything improve. I hope you are starting to feel you are on the other side of this thing!
