    Heya Barre

I heard you and/or Robert Phoenix say today that it’s a good idea not to live in an urban area come 2024 due to the agenda of Those Who Seek to Control. I don’t know where else to post this, hence my posting here. But then, I guess this is ultimately a question about the health of our human community (if you don’t mind the word human, which comes from Latin humas meaning “earth”).

    I’d love to see a sort of clearing house in this private community for folks who want to live together on the land or simply away from urbania. I’m particularly interested in Northern California. Two years ago I was actively looking for folks to buy land with or whom I could join on their land. But when that didn’t come about, I redirected my energies towards building a little community at my triplex home here in Berkeley. Which is not (yet?) on the list of Smart-Cities-to-be. {whew for now}

I spose I could start a group here on the topic, but am feeling a little shy. My interest, as I said, is in Northern California. But perhaps a catch-all group would be a good way to start? However since 2024 isn’t around the corner, but down the block just a lot or two away, tempus fugit!

    Any thoughts?

I’m in the middle of listening go that, too, and have the same thoughts, Hulda. I’ve over in Clovis where all of my family is, so I’ll need to keep my house here, and I’m not overly concerned about this area per se, but I have a tiny house I’d love to put somewhere more rural – and with a community so my house and environs are safe when I’m not there. My first choice is in Siskiyou County, where I grew up, and more specifically in Scott Valley around Fort Jones, which is around where my mother grew up. Just tossing this idea into the mix, Hulda!

My husband and I have been hashing this out too. All I really want is a couple acres for chicken friends maybe some goat friends, and large gardens plus a nice comfy cabin. Husband wants 80 acres ? that’s such an enormous amount of land I don’t even know how we would fire mitigate it. I spent my summers at my grandparents peanut farm in rural Arkansas working my tail off but Arkansas is a much different land than California. Heck, California is a different land than California, it’s different everywhere in the state.

Yes, things will be getting very “exciting” shortly, but one can be just as ready in an urban setting with the right stategy. I also believe that conscious communities will organically sprout from the chaos.

So Rural is where the heart is I suppose. I live in the boonies because the land invited me here, but we need Angel Warriors in every locale. If I was called to be in Berkeley I’d follow the call, but … I would miss my swimming hole greatly!

I’m working on preparing myself mentally for whatever happens but I would love some insight on the “strategy” that would help to get through it. Please share.

I’m on the urban Delta here in CA. It’s already the wild west here as far as lack of police and lots of crime. Fortunately I do have a decent neighborhood. Instead of a neighborhood watch, I’d like to find out if anyone is on the same page as I am for preparedness and community if any shit hits the fan here. Please share your “strategy” thoughts though, I would appreciate it. ?

Hi Hulda and Barre, I too have had numerous thoughts on this very topic and like the idea of going rural in N. Cali. Our plan to visit AV farm and camp at Panther Flat after Music and Sky was altered due to the Del Norte fires. Call your group “Going Rural” Hulda, I will join. Deb gave me the name of her realtor in 2022 when we stopped for a brief afternoon at AV farm while camping at Prairie Creek State Park. I’d like to find some land as well.

Hello a great discussion to be having as maybe connections will be developing as the pieces transpire. Been pondering this one long and hard for quite sometime. Drawn north because of all that is so pristine . No financial resources but Iiving here in Napa has no heart and soul for me.

I love what is happening through our new Alfa structure. It is soul food. Much love for this tribe !

Thanks for your 2 cents, Valerie. Would you consider the SF Bay Area group too far afield for you? Or maybe you’d want to start a Napa or Napa/Sonoma/Mendocino group?

    Hi Hulda,

Thank you for creating this discussion! I moved to Crescent City in summer 2023, mostly inspired by Alfacast – Mike advertising the beauty of this area in every episode LOL!

I was fortunate to find a rental in this area and I think I am going to stay put during 2024.
I do agree with Barre about we creating community wherever we are. However, I was in a place that was as “normie” as it would get. e.g. in our previous house we were surrounded by 10-15 “known” wifi networks from neighbors; everyone is marching towards “dumb” cities there. Also it was relatively easy for me to move as I did not have any familial ties where we were living.

I think I will stay put in the current home in 2024. However, I am very interested in any long term community building where families who want to “live rural” want to locate in an area, especially in Northern California!!

HI Shalaka, I believe I saw you sharing some details of your move on the exec call. Glad to hear you are liking it there and that for now it suits your needs. So glad we now have this forum to stay in touch. I’d like to look at purchasing land in the area.

Hi all, this is also a desire of mine to start building connections with those in Northern CA that want to live rural and/or in some type of community, whatever that looks like based on how needs and the bigger world situation evolves.

I am in Winters, CA, a small farming community outside of the Davis area. I think it is a great idea to start this conversation and keep in touch with each other. Whether is it before or after shit hits the fan, our collective intention and practical ideas will move us in this direction. It sounds like there are several of us in the greater Northern CA area!
