First time liver/ gallblader cleanse and enema **Warning** (Enema Questions)

Last week I did my first liver and gallbladder cleanse, and followed with a coffee enema – also first time for that. I did the protocol posted here on the site, and it went well. I expelled a good amount of stones. Sorry if this is too detailed 😬 but, I split the enema into 2 smaller amounts because I read somewhere that it might be easier for those without practice. I could not hold it long at all, maybe a min or two for each and also read you shouldn’t try to hold in your poo if its ready to go, which it was. Released more stones with each go, so I was very happy to see that. The coffee I used was an organic green coffee I ordered months ago when planning to attempt this stuff at some point, and I think I only used about 2 Tablespoons, but the rest of the day I was wired. Uncomfortably wired, jittery and anxious. I quit drinking coffee regularly over a year ago, so I expected a little of that affect but it didn’t help that I also was just feeling very on edge, angry mood… I’ve heard of others having that reaction, from releasing stored anger. I probably need a lot more cleanses to get out what I’ve been holding in. But my question would be, is it possible I didn’t “clean out” enough because I couldn’t hold the enema long enough? And, should I dilute my enema liquid even more to avoid getting so jacked up from butt coffee? I’m prepping myself for another cleanse soon, can you do too many too soon, because I’d really like to keep pushing onward with getting all this crap, literally and figuratively out of me. Or coffee enema alternatives that could be just as effective? Is there anything wrong with doing enemas on juice drinking days leading up to the actual flush? Thank you.

I didn’t think that Barre was going to respond…and I didn’t want you to be without one! Erasing my worthless comments other than: I’m impressed Elizabeth!

    Hey Elizabeth

No worries … some folks are just more sensitive to caffeine, but it lessens over time with weekly clean-outs. In the meantime just cut the coffee in half, so you can get the amazing benefits without the jitters. Caffeine is less apt to cause the jitters when taken through the bowel than through imbibition, but some people will still be more stimulated, so definitely better to do earlier in the day as well.

Decaffeinated coffee will not work, as it’s the caffeine/palmitic acid that provoke the liver to dump toxins. Coffee enemas have been in use for over 100 years and were used at wartime to mitigate pain in the absence of morphine due to it’s powerful & beneficial action on the liver. We had our Cancer Terrain patients on multiple coffee enemas daily, which allowed more aggressive treatments to expedite the degradation of tumors and general elimination that would otherwise take way more time than these people had in order to stay in their bodies. I share personal experience, so you understand why I favor this modality, and especially when it’s DIY! holler back with any questions.

Thanks for the reply! I will continue and hopefully it gets better as I go. My mother had stage 4 breast cancer when I was a teen, over 25 years ago and she still does the enemas regularly now. It was my job to make her juice. I was avoiding bringing these questions to her though because she would just get worried and think something was wrong with me lol. I’ll fill her in at some point and probably recommend the gallbladder cleanse to her also.

Elizabeth, I thought you might like to know that in Chinese medicine, the liver is “the general” whose emotion is anger.

Also, “butt coffee” made me laugh.

I use Alfa Vedics formula and like you, I have a tough time going 5 minutes even, it becomes rather uncomfortable, however I still notice benefits. I am going to cut the strength in half as Barre said, I thought maybe I just had a smaller bowl since I am a quite small person overall.

Funny thing.. Coffee enemas sometimes get me a bit jacked, but in a way that’s not jitters, but more like a “trip”.. but that’s less than 50% of the time.. Usually I feel very tired afterwards, and sometimes (like today) dose off while I’m laying on the floor holding the coffee in.. Coffee is chemically complex, and I read once that it also has components that are essentially sedative.. When I was much much younger, it wouldn’t be unusual for me to nap at 9 or 10am after morning coffee.. but I was also a student and probably going pretty hard with early mornings.. And homeopathically, coffee is used to alleviate insomnia.. So that’s interesting..

But that’s interesting that anger was released with the gallstones.. Was thinking about a gall flush just yesterday and today (after discussing it and contemplating it for a while with a friend).. And considering the frustration, anger, and rage I’ve experienced this entire year with my ongoing trauma healing, I’m thinking it might be a good next step..

However, I’m in the middle of working through kidney dysfunction, and don’t want to release anything into my system or bloodstream that can’t get filtered out properly.. The kidney dysfunction is clearly and obviously a manifestation of energetic-trauma release, which came right on the heals of a few AK and TuiNa sessions spaced over about 3 months.. Something’s hung up in the kidneys, and so a gall cleanse might be the thing I need to push it along.. and given the inguinal hernia I have, and the discomfort with that and how it provokes rage — can’t help but see the connections in all these things.. I wonder what Barre’s thoughts might be on all this (barring a personal in-person assessment).. @barre

yes, it is interesting how different things affect people differently. And yeah, the anger was a trip. I guess I expected to just “feel lighter”, feel a little happier or something so I wasn’t really expecting to actually feel angry and frustrated the rest of the day lol, but I guess it makes sense. I found some stories after a little search of others experiencing similar. I also have much more to get through and looking forward to seeing what will come with more cleanses. Good luck with your journey!

Well that’s an affirmation that you’ve found stories of others experiencing rage with the gall flush.. I know in Chinese medicine, rage and anger are stored in the liver, so it would seem the gall is close to that — as if it’s congested, then that backs up the liver.. With my ongoing focus on the liver, and the rage that’s at times overwhelming, one could say the gall is stuck and needs to flush out to move things along.. An interesting aside: my applied kinesiologist suggested taking sesame oil ongoing as a response the the liver-rage, which is what they do in Chinese medicine.. he’s always on-point, because for about a week leading up to that conversation, I was craving sesame seeds *hardcore*, like seriously craving them, and I was out, and I was pissed I was out of ’em.. Lol..

So this convo’s got me seriously looking at the gall flush idea.. Good luck as well moving forward.. If you do protocols again in the future, would love to know how it goes and how the experience changes, or not.. Would be interesting to track that, if you care to share.. 🙂

Hmm, I’ll have to look into the sesame oil. Anything’s worth a try if it may help. Yes, I’ll definitely share more, I know for myself it can be helpful hearing details on experiences in things like this.

Yes, that was one of the reasons I felt compelled to do the cleanse. It’s very interesting. I’ll be doing the same and get more practice lol

      Ari,

Maybe you figured this out already, but the AV coffee bag instructions are to make to coffee in a French press first, then put the liquid into the bucket, that way there are no grounds in the tubes. I got myself a nice all stainless steel press, after dropping my glass one and shattering in my bathroom….coffee enema problems we are all on this journey together 😂

I get a little lift from my CE, so I only do them in the morning now. It’s nothing crazy though, I tend to drink caffeine too much so definitely not sensitive to it.
