    Hey there Doc,
I’ve wanted to ask you this for a long time; I cannot seem to get my Salt hot enough with my home oven to get it pure white. There is always this Khaki/Yellow tinge (I’m using Corningware dishes, so there shouldn’t be any trouble with leeching from the vessel). Do you have any suggestions on how to attain a higher heat? I realize I may need some gear that I do not have.. Thank you!

    Hey Cory

I use a large crucible and my covered grill outside as there’s often alot of smoke involved. I’m sure you’re aware that many successive calcinations are typically necessary prior to obtaining a white ash. At times leaching with distilled water followed by drying the distillate to lessen the impurities prior to further calcination can be helpful. Most of what I’ve learned is thru trial and error … experience is the best teacher, and “doing the work” as you are already doing elevates theory to art-science-spiritual practice. Keep me posted and thanks for contributing.
